2006 New Lease on life Walk

Solano County Animal Rescue Foundation (SCARF) held its second annual dog walk on September 23 2006 at Andrews Park in Vacaville. The public and their dogs came out to enjoy the vendors, the demonstrations, and of course the walk which took everyone through down town Vacaville and back.

This year we were pleased to have once again Mayor Len Augustine say a few remarks at the event. We also had several dog rescues come back and bring their adoptable dogs in the hope of finding new homes. New this year were several vendors of varying interest, a photo booth and two game booths which were made by Russ Fisher.

Thanks to all of you who supported SCARF by participating in the silent auction and the raffle. Many items were generously donated by you the public and we appreciate them and thank you.

Thank you to our volunteers, who helped in every way to make our second ‘New Leash on Life’ successful.

We extend a special thank you to Lori Jones and Barbara Schacherl who coordinated and made this years walk possible. With their dedication and persistence we were able to once again be successful in working towards our mission of SCARF.

Enjoy these pictures of the event and keep a lookout for next years ‘New Leash on Life Walk”.

Please browse through the pictures and see how ‘Disc Dogs of Golden Gate’ once again impressed and entertained the public with their amazing Frisbee dogs, Vacaville Police Dogs awed the spectators with the amazing abilities of a police dog, Francesca’s dog training group demonstrated how well a canine companion can respond when given the right attention and training, Norsled carting demonstration and much more such as the dancing dogs, and the adoptable dogs on parade.
