Solano County Animal Rescue Foundation (SCARF) held its first annual 'New Leash on Life' Walk on October 15th 2005 in Vacaville CA. at Andrews Park. Over a hundred participants and thier dogs took part in either the walk or browsing through our vendors or sponsor tents. There was live entertainment from 'Disc Dogs of the Golden Gate' as well as demonstrations of dog obedience from 'Vallejo Dog Training Club' and 'Benicia Police Dogs'.

SCARF had a successful adoption day as well as Central California Labrador Retriever Rescue and Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Rescue.

We want to thank our sponsors, vendors, volunteers and all of you participants who helped make this first annual event a success. Thanks to your effort we continue to be able to work towards keeping our mission alive.

We want to extend a special thanks to Melissa Morris, the founder, Mayor Len Augustine, for his opening remarks and Supervisor Vasquez for getting the walk started.
